Smile, you're on Google Camera!

If you happen to see a funny looking car like this around the city in the coming weeks, give your hair a little brush, throw on some lippy, and smile your biggest and brightest because your face could soon be splashed across the www for millions of curious onlookers.

Wave hello to Google's newest endeavour, Street View, an online, interactive, street level photographic mapping system that is part of the ever popular worldview programme Google Earth. Street View allows curious web-goers from across the world to have an up-close-and-personal look at the streets and surrounding areas of any given city.

Equipped with GPS and a full score of camera equipment (as seen above) the Google car will be out over the coming weeks as part of a training exercise to be undertaken ahead of its task to map all of the five major Irish cities: Galway, Dublin, Cork, Limerick, and Waterford.
